Super Scintillator Arrays
Message from Conveners
Dear Colleague,
This message is related to the FRIB equipment workshop at Michigan
State University, February 20-22, 2010. As you may know, different
working groups are being formed to discuss needs and plans. Among the
working groups is one for "Super scintillator arrays". As appointed
conveners, we invite you and others in your institution/lab to join
the working group, so we may benefit from your expertise and interest.
We would also appreciate your forwarding of this information to any
interested colleague.
While there will be many angles to discuss, a straw starting agenda includes:
(a) Range of applications
(b) Modularity
(c) Combination with other detector arrays
(d) "Other" capabilities (e.g. gamma-neutron separation)
(e) New scintillator materials (current availability, developments)
We look forward to hearing from you via e-mail. We will plan other
modes of communication as we progress.
Best Regards,
Partha Chowdhury, University of Massachusetts Lowell
Walter Reviol, Washington University (point-of-contact)
Volker Werner, Yale University
Co-convenors of the working group
